ARRIVALVia Lima to AQP

PROMPERÚ gives approximately 1¼ hours flying from Lima to Arequipa. The operator places AQP about 8 km from the centre; transfer time varies with traffic.

YOUR HOLIDAY. COMFORTABLY DIFFERENT.

City and nature.
Your own pace.

Arequipa is a city stay with nearby scenery rather than a springboard for distant daily destinations. Historic streets, courtyards and viewpoints fit several days. Elevation brings milder air while direct sunshine can still feel strong.

Arequipa is a city stay with nearby scenery rather than a springboard for distant daily destinations. Historic streets, courtyards and viewpoints fit several days. Elevation brings milder air while direct sunshine can still feel strong.

Santa Catalina deserves a visit of its own. Give courtyards and rooms attention rather than squeezing the monastery between excursions. Yanahuara and San Lázaro introduce different urban perspectives; a relaxed afternoon remains part of the trip.

Chilina Valley adds agricultural terraces and river scenery. It is not automatically a continuous recreational walking route. Select a confirmed suitable access point or accompanied visit and respect cultivated land.

Which region does this guide cover?

Covers Arequipa’s historic centre with Santa Catalina and San Lázaro, Yanahuara, Carmen Alto, Sachaca and suitable accessible landscape visits in the nearby Chilina/Chili valley around Cayma. AQP airport serves arrival only. Colca and Cotahuasi, Chivay, Salinas y Aguada Blanca, Ruta del Sillar/quarries, Misti/Chachani summits, the coast, Cusco and Lake Titicaca are excluded. Rafting and high-mountain trekking are not included activities.

Elevation.
A climate of its own.

Arequipa’s elevation and predominantly dry surroundings support a seasonal city/nature stay. May to October is the preferred drier approach; southern-summer showers can change outings. Nights are fresh while exposed sunny locations can become warm. Urban La Pampilla is not confused with a cool summit, and Chilina has its own elevation and exposure differences.
