YOUR HOLIDAY. COMFORTABLY DIFFERENT.

City and nature.
Your own pace.

A northern Estonian city/nature trip with coastal air and a national park stage of its own.

Tallinn supports a city stay in its own right. The Old Town, Kalamaja and Kadriorg offer different perspectives; assign suitable daily blocks. A collection and a pause may be more useful than many viewpoints in succession.

Pirita adds coastal air to the city plan. Select promenade and greenery for wind and energy. A nearby beach does not automatically mean suitable swimming; water is a possible extra rather than a trip requirement.

Lahemaa complements Tallinn with woodland, peatland and selected coastal villages. Viru paths and Palmse or Oandu visitor information need specific arrival plans. A rental car is one option, a confirmed organised outing another; city buses do not create a flexible national park shuttle.

Which region does this guide cover?

This guide covers Tallinn with its Old Town, Kalamaja, Kadriorg and Pirita, plus selected Lahemaa National Park visits at Viru bog, Palmse, Oandu, Altja and Käsmu. The city remains the main base; a short park stay is optional. Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, other island trips, Tartu, Pärnu, Narva and the full Oandu–Ikla trek are excluded.

PLACES THAT STAY WITH YOU

Three perspectives.
One itinerary.

City heritage, urban greenery and a peatland outing with different requirements.

01

TALLINN · HERITAGE

Tallinn Old Town

Streets, squares and suitable indoor visits as a daily block. Allow for cobbles and climbs; famous viewpoints are not a complete city plan.

02

TALLINN · PARK & ART

Kadriorg

Park and cultural visits provide a different rhythm from the Old Town. Choose a collection and check openings, then add a short green break.

03

LAHEMAA · PEATLAND

Viru bog

Protected peatland path with a boardwalk and tower. Stay on designated routes; accessibility applies to particular sections and needs current checks.

04

Kalamaja

Wooden houses and culture for a neighbourhood walk; every collection need not fit one day.

05

Pirita

Select promenade and coastal greenery for wind and mobility; check swimming advice separately.

06

Palmse

National park information as a starting point for route choices; confirm indoor visits and openings.

07

Oandu & Altja

Visitor centre and selected woodland/cultural paths near the coastal village. Confirm transport and return first.

08

Käsmu

Another Lahemaa village if time allows, not a compulsory addition to every park site.

YOUR PREFERENCES. YOUR HOLIDAY.

A good fit,
if you stay flexible.

Combine culture, greenery and coast. Hot spells, wind and rain remain possible.

A great fit for you.

  • You want a capital with a defined nature region.
  • You enjoy culture, parks and coast alike.
  • You arrange Lahemaa outings deliberately.
  • With children, you select appropriate short walks.
  • You leave room for rain and warm spells.

What you should know.

  • Old Town cobbles and climbs are not convenient everywhere.
  • Summer dates and popular sites may be busy.
  • The boardwalk does not have identical width or access throughout.
  • City and regional transport have different rules.
  • Winter paths and short days limit nature plans.
