WHY NOW
A motorsport event that could not exist without the Highland landscape.
The Scottish Six Days Trial takes place from 4 to 9 May 2026. Over six days, riders cover long distances on roads, across moorland and through challenging observed sections. Each day starts and finishes in Fort William.
Why the event belongs in this region
The landscape around Lochaber is not merely a backdrop to the trial; it forms part of the sporting challenge. Spectators can reach selected sections on foot or via public roads.
The SSDT, 4–9 May
The event runs for six consecutive days. Fort William is the obvious base for accommodation and day-trip planning.
Add a journey through the Great Glen
If you do not want to watch motorsport every day, explore Loch Ness, Glen Nevis or other parts of the Great Glen. The region is green in May, but the weather remains highly changeable.
You do not need to head for a hot Mediterranean destination to spend midsummer outdoors. These six regions offer water, nature and long days with generally less heat pressure.
