The Soča Outdoor Festival takes place in Tolmin from 26 to 28 June 2026. Trail runs ranging from short distances to 50 kilometres, hiking activities and an extensive supporting programme use the landscape around the Soča and Tolminka rivers as a natural stage.
Why late June?
June brings long days and generally good conditions for active travel. The valley can already become warm, though, which makes early starts and higher-altitude routes particularly sensible.
Outdoor Festival, 26–28 June
The programme combines running competitions, hikes, evening events and activities around Tolmin. Even if you are not competing, the town feels especially lively during the festival.
More than the festival itself
Bovec, Kobarid, Trenta and the Soča gorges make excellent additions. But do not turn every day into a long hike – the water, gorges and short walks are just as much part of the region's appeal.
