WHY NOW

A whole month when Amsterdam becomes an international stage.

The 79th Holland Festival takes place from 3 to 28 June 2026. Its programme spans music, dance, opera, theatre and interdisciplinary productions. Days are long, making it easy to weave parks, canals and terraces into a cultural itinerary.

Why June?

June is one of the most pleasant months for long days in Amsterdam. It stays light until late, the parks are green, and many journeys can be made on foot, by bicycle or by ferry.

Holland Festival, 3–28 June

The festival brings international artists to venues across the city. That makes a flexible visit possible: explore neighbourhoods and waterways during the day, then enjoy a performance in the evening.

Leave room for the city itself

Deliberately keep some afternoons free. In June it is worth making time for Vondelpark, the IJ waterfront or Amsterdam Noord between museums and performances.

  • Book popular performances early.
  • Bring an extra light layer for evenings.
  • Do not fill every day between cultural events.
